Dessert Heaven: Foodie Love
It’s been a minute…or two, so I am going to just jump right in. I am a foodie. I absolutely love food. I’m sure you are thinking “Who doesn’t?”. Mine is a little more than love. I am a pretty decent cook. Not Rachel Ray or Jamie Oliver, but someday I hope to make it to that level. In fact the only thing I love more than photography is food. I have a hearty appetite too. If there is food Wamuyu will eat. I don’t even know why people bother to ask if I am hungry. In fact when I tell my friends I am hungry, they almost always respond with a sigh, “Wamuyu, you are ALWAYS hungry.” .
Anyway, Mwarv and I were shooting a wedding at the swanky Sankara Hotel on Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding. One of the better ones I’ve had the pleasure of shooting this year. Haven’t seen so much diversity in one room in a while. Check out Mwarv’s blog, I’m sure he’ll blog about it in a few weeks.
Ummi and Tony (The Couple), had a buffet set-up for their guests. There was so much food and the menu was pretty varied. Something for everyone. I avoided the carbs though, just moved from a size eight to ten the other day, not cool. That of course was forgotten the moment I laid eyes on the dessert buffet. I think I shed a tear when I saw it. It was glorious. So after I tasted everything (honestly, I think at some point Mwarv was concerned), I took my 50mm and the Canon 7D and went to work. Here are some of the desserts I was able to get decent shots of. I also took a couple of shots of the some salads.
By the way, I highly recommend the Sankara, not only is the food amazing, but they have the decor/ambience thing down as well. So if you have a ‘few’ extra pennies to spare, take your someone special there for dinner.
As always, feel free to leave a comment and share with a friend.
