“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
― Karl Lagerfeld
If you’d asked me what I’d like to be when I grew up, a photographer would definitely not be the answer you’d get. I wanted to be a game warden/ranger. Seriously.
A little over a year ago, purely by chance, I picked up a camera and shot Winyo as he performed LIVE during Thursday Night Live at Choices on Baricho Rd. I remember I shot it with a Canon 60D and the standard 18 – 55 mm kits lens. There was no looking back. Now thanks to Mwangi Kirubi I discovered a new-found passion for capturing the beauty that is life through photography. It has not been easy, the learning curve is (very) steep but I keep at it because I believe that photographs tell stories, they preserve our memories, they help us remember. I tell my stories through photos.
